After this summer fishing trips I'm glad to say I was wrong, I stumbled on a new method of catching fish using Pellet Floats.
There are a number of things to consider when fishing with pellet floats, but most of them are pretty simple. Firstly when setting up your float you want all you shot at the base of the float, and because you will be using this method to pick fish off the top of the service you will only need around 1-2 feet of line to your hook. You can then either attach your pellet by use of pellet bands or use a hair rig.
The reason this method work is because when the float hits the water it imitates the sound of pellets/food hitting the surface and the fish, especially in commercial venues flurry to it.
The Key to this Method is feeding. You will need to catapult pellets out before casting your float. If you don't have a take within a couple of minutes reel in and repeat. Sometimes it can take a while for fish to show up so if its early in the day you may want to try another method but keep firing pellets over the area you want to fish the pellets float. This will help bring the fish into the area and getting them feeding without fear.
With any type of fishing its all about trial an error. Don't be worried about trying different things and learning from what you try every time you go out.
